New Resource to Support Implementation of States’ Five-Year Strategic Plans
About
We’re pleased to announce a new technical assistance (TA) resource that offers tools and tips to help State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) grantees translate their five-year strategic plans into high-quality implementation plans and then implement those plans.
The Office of Apprenticeship required states that applied for SAEF grant funds to submit a five-year strategic plan addressing how they would use funds to expand, diversify, and modernize their state’s Registered Apprenticeship system. These plans are critical, but as organizational guru Peter Drucker once said, “Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.” Planning must be followed by doing.
Here’s where this new Five-Year Plan Implementation Resource can help: It offers SAEF grantees a framework to guide development of an implementation plan – essential for managing the hard work of achieving the planned goals and outcomes.
This resource also assembles an array of tools states can use to organize and manage aspects of the implementation plan:
- Project tasks
- Clear internal and external responsibility and accountability lines
- Ongoing strategic communication, risk assessment, and continuous improvement
